Virgin Money UK broker site

One of my projects at Virgin Money UK as a Senior Digital Designer (UI/UX) was to design, maintain and redesign the mortgage broker section of the website to serve our B2B customers.

buy-to-let decision tree digitisation

On the old broker site there was a pdf download to help Brokers ascertain what type of buy-to-let (equivalent to Australia’s investment home loan) their customer would need. The resource was confusing and not well thought out. Below is the resource.

userflow

Below is the userflow of the redesigned map which leads the broker to answer a few quick questions to determine whether it’s a consumer, regulated or non-regulated BTL loan they’ll need. Shown is also a couple of design options for the tile where this would link from on the new broker site.

Design decisions

As this is a form that automatically moves the user to the next question as soon as they hit the answer, on the final screen of each decision tree branch I made the decision to keep the final question highlighted so the user could be sure they had selected the right question for their final question without needing to hit the previous button. I also had back to start available if they wanted to check again or check for a different customer.

Below are a couple of design options of the buy-to-let page that sits on the broker hub. I did two variants of the tiles.
